Seed Club Terms
Updated October 14, 2026
Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]. Last updated October 14, 2026.
Key terms
- The Seed Club renews automatically every year until you cancel.
- Price: $54 per year, plus sales tax where it applies. Shipping is free. You’re charged when you join and again on the same date each year.
- What you get each paid year: four seasonal mailings (December, March, June and September), each with three Missouri native seed packets and a letter on what to sow now.
- Cancel any time, online, with the Manage or cancel button on our Seed Club page, or by email or phone. Cancel before your renewal date and you won’t be charged again.
- Refunds: when you cancel, you can keep the mailings you’ve paid for, or ask us to refund $13.50 for each paid mailing that hasn’t shipped yet.
- Reminders: we email you twice before every renewal, with the date, the price and how to cancel.
- There’s no minimum commitment beyond the year you’ve paid for.
These terms are part of our Terms of Sale and Use. They’re written to follow the federal Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act and state automatic-renewal laws, including California’s. If a law where you live gives you more protection, you get that protection.
1. Joining and agreeing to renewal
You join the Seed Club on our website. The Seed Club isn’t sold on Etsy or in person. Before you pay, we show you the key terms above next to the button you use to subscribe.
By subscribing, you agree to these terms and you authorize Prairie Post Seed Co. LLC, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge $54 plus any sales tax to your payment method when you join and on each yearly renewal date until you cancel.
Right after you join, we email you a confirmation with these key terms, how to cancel, and your renewal date. Keep it for your records.
You must be 18 or older, with a shipping address in the contiguous United States or Washington, D.C., in a state we ship to (for now, not Colorado, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania or Wisconsin; see Shipping & Returns). One membership per checkout. For more than one recipient, check out once for each.
2. Your mailings
- Schedule. We send Seed Club mailings in the first half of December, March, June and September.
- Your first mailing is the next seasonal mailing after you join. If you join during a mailing month, that month’s mailing ships within 4 business days.
- Four mailings per paid year. Each year of membership, starting on the day you join or renew, includes four mailings: your first mailing and the next three seasonal mailings after it.
- What’s inside. Each mailing has three seed packets chosen for that season, plus a seasonal letter. We choose the species and try not to repeat one within your membership year. If you already have a species we send, tell us and we’ll swap it when we can.
- Shipping is free, by USPS First-Class Mail in a flat kraft envelope, without tracking. If a mailing hasn’t arrived 10 business days after it ships, tell us and we’ll resend it once, free. Our Shipping & Returns policy covers lost or damaged mailings.
- Address changes. Email [email protected] by the 1st of a mailing month to change the address for that month’s mailing.
- Grow Guarantee. Every packet in a Seed Club mailing is covered by our Grow Guarantee.
3. Gift memberships
- You can buy a membership for someone else and add a gift note (up to 200 characters). We include the note with the first mailing.
- A gift membership renews on the buyer’s payment method each year unless the buyer cancels. If you want to give just one year, you can turn off renewal right after you buy. The recipient still gets all four mailings in the year you paid for.
- The buyer gets the receipts, renewal reminders and refunds. We use the recipient’s name and address only to send the mailings.
4. Renewal reminders
Before each yearly renewal, we email the address on the membership twice:
- a first reminder 31 to 45 days before your renewal date, and
- a second reminder 15 to 30 days before your renewal date.
Each reminder tells you that your membership will renew automatically unless you cancel, the renewal date, the price and how often you’ll be charged, how to cancel online (with a direct link), and how to reach us. These reminders also serve as the yearly notice some states require.
Please keep your email address current so you get them. Email [email protected] to change it.
5. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time, for any reason, using any of these:
- Online: click Manage or cancel on our Seed Club page. It opens Stripe’s secure subscription page. Enter the email address you used when you joined, and Stripe will email you a one-time link or code to confirm it’s you. Then choose Cancel.
- Pre-written email: our Seed Club page has a cancel-by-email link that opens a ready-to-send email. Send it from the email address on your membership and you don’t need to add anything.
- Email: write to [email protected] with “Cancel Seed Club” and the name or email on the membership.
- Phone: call [PHONE]. If you reach voicemail, leave your name and email and we’ll process the cancellation within 1 business day.
When you cancel:
- your membership won’t renew and you won’t be charged again;
- we email you a confirmation; and
- you keep receiving the mailings you’ve already paid for, unless you ask for a refund (see section 6).
We won’t make you talk to anyone, give a reason, or wade through offers to cancel. To avoid your next renewal charge, cancel before your renewal date.
6. Refunds
- Unshipped mailings. Whenever you cancel, you can ask us to refund $13.50 for each mailing in your current paid year that hasn’t shipped yet. If none have shipped, that’s a full refund of the $54. Sales tax on the refunded amount is refunded too.
- Forgot to cancel? If you’re charged for a renewal you didn’t want, cancel and ask for a refund. You get $13.50 back for every mailing from that renewal year that hasn’t shipped.
- Timing. We issue refunds within 5 business days of your request, to your original payment method. Your bank usually posts them within 5–10 business days.
- Mailings that have already shipped can’t be refunded, but their packets are covered by the Grow Guarantee, and lost or damaged mailings are covered by Shipping & Returns.
7. If a payment doesn’t go through
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will try again and email you a secure link to update your payment method. We hold mailings until payment goes through. If payment still hasn’t gone through 30 days after your renewal date, the membership ends, and we won’t keep trying to charge you.
8. Price and term changes
- The price you agreed to stays the same for your current paid year.
- If we change the price or any other important term, the change applies only starting at your next renewal. We’ll tell you by email before then, in your renewal reminders, including at least one notice sent 7 to 30 days before the new price or term takes effect, with how to cancel. If you don’t want the new price or terms, cancel before your renewal date.
9. If we end the Seed Club
If we ever stop offering the Seed Club, we’ll email you, stop all renewals, and refund $13.50 for each paid mailing we won’t send.
10. Records
We keep a record of your agreement to these terms, your reminders and any cancellation for at least 3 years, or 1 year after your membership ends if that’s longer.
