Business Packet Terms

Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]. Last updated October 14, 2026.
These terms cover Custom Business Seed Packets and Pop-By Kits made to order by Prairie Post Seed Co. LLC (“we,” “us”) for businesses, organizations and individuals, including wedding and event favors (“you”). Your order is made up of our written quote or your signed Business Packet Order Form, your proof approval, and these terms. If your signed order form says something different from these terms, the order form controls.

1. What you get
- Custom Business Seed Packet: a Prairie Post seed packet with your logo or name and one short line of your own text (up to about 40 characters) on the front, with our stamp-style botanical art. The back carries our growing directions and the seed-label information the law requires.
- Seed choices: No. 1 Purple Coneflower, No. 3 Black-eyed Susan, No. 7 Wild Bergamot, No. 8 Lanceleaf Coreopsis, or the Missouri Pollinator Mix (all four together).
- Pop-By Kit: one custom seed packet, a note card printed with your message, and a kraft sleeve, ready to hand out.
- We fill each packet by weight to our standard fill for that seed, so the number of seeds varies slightly from packet to packet.
2. Prices and quantities
- Your total quantity on one order sets the price per packet. For example, 50 Purple Coneflower plus 50 Wild Bergamot is 100 packets at $2.25 each.
- You can split an order into blocks of 50, each with one seed choice and one design.
- Sometimes a larger quantity costs less in total (100 packets cost less than 82–99 packets, and 250 cost less than 195–249). If your order lands in one of those ranges, we’ll point it out on your quote.
- Quotes are good for 30 days.
- Prices don’t include sales tax or shipping outside our free delivery area.
3. Proofs and approval
- Once we have your quantity, seed choice, date, text and artwork, we email you a digital proof of your packet front, usually within 2 business days.
- Two rounds of changes are included. More changes are fine, but each extra round may move your ready date.
- Check your proof carefully: spelling, names, dates, phone numbers, web addresses, logos and colors. We print exactly what you approve. Mistakes in an approved proof are your responsibility.
- Colors on screen look different from colors printed on kraft paper. We match your colors as closely as our printing allows.
- Logo files: vector files (SVG, PDF, EPS or AI) print best. A PNG at least 1,000 pixels wide works too. No logo? We’ll set your name in our type at no charge. We may simplify a detailed logo so it prints clearly at packet size, and we’ll show you in the proof.
- You can approve by email or by signing the order form. Either one counts.
4. Payment and sales tax
- We send a Stripe invoice when you approve the proof. You can pay by card or U.S. bank transfer. Production starts once the invoice is paid.
- We add Missouri sales tax where it applies. If your organization is exempt from sales tax, send a copy of your Missouri sales and use tax exemption letter (or your state’s exemption certificate) before we invoice you.
5. Production and your date
- Your packets are ready 7–10 business days after you approve the proof and pay the invoice.
- If you need them by a specific date, tell us when you ask for a quote. If we can meet it, we’ll confirm it in writing as your confirmed in-hands date. Please plan at least 3 weeks ahead. For Earth Day (Thursday, April 22, 2027), please book by Monday, March 1, 2027. The last day to approve your proof and pay the invoice for Earth Day is Thursday, April 8, 2027.
- If we miss a confirmed in-hands date because of a delay on our side, you can cancel the late part of the order for a full refund of that part, or accept it late. This doesn’t apply when the delay comes from late approval, payment, artwork or changes.
6. Delivery
- Free local delivery on business days to one address in St. Charles County, St. Louis County or the City of St. Louis, Missouri. We’ll agree on a delivery window with you.
- Everywhere else in the contiguous United States, we ship by USPS or UPS, except to states where we can’t ship seed yet (listed in our Shipping & Returns policy). Shipping is billed at our cost, quoted up front and added to your invoice.
- If a shipment is lost or arrives damaged, tell us within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date, if it never arrives) and we’ll replace or refund the affected items.
7. Check your order
Please count and check your order within 7 days of delivery. If anything is short, damaged, doesn’t match your approved proof, or has the wrong seed, email [email protected] with photos. We’ll replace the affected items at no cost, or refund them if a replacement can’t reach you in time. After 7 days, we consider the count and printing accepted. Seed problems are still covered by the Grow Guarantee.
8. Changes and cancellations
- Before you approve the proof: cancel any time at no charge.
- After you approve and pay, before we start production: we refund what you paid minus the cost of materials already printed or bought for your order. We’ll show you those costs, and they will never be more than 25% of your order total.
- After production starts: your packets are made for you and can’t be resold, so the order can’t be canceled. We’ll finish and deliver it.
- Changes after approval, such as more packets or a new date, are often possible. Some need a new proof and a new ready date. If added packets move you into a lower price tier, we’ll re-invoice at the lower price.
- Custom orders can’t be returned once delivered, except for our mistakes (section 7).
- If a seed you chose becomes unavailable, we’ll offer another seed from our business list or a refund for the affected packets. We never substitute seed without your OK.
9. Your artwork and text
- You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, the logos, names, images and text you send us, and that printing them on packets won’t violate anyone’s rights or any law.
- You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use them to make your proofs and your order, and to keep them on file for reorders. Ask any time and we’ll delete them.
- We won’t show your packets, name or logo publicly (on our website, social media or sales samples) unless you give us permission on your order form. You can take that permission back at any time for future use.
- You’re responsible for making sure your packet text meets any advertising rules that apply to your business, such as the rules for banks, credit unions and real estate licensees.
- We may decline any design or text, for example if it’s unlawful, uses a logo or trademark you don’t own (such as sports team, school or brand logos), is hateful, harassing or sexually explicit, or makes claims about the seed we can’t support (such as “organic,” “non-GMO,” health claims or guaranteed blooms). If we decline, we refund anything you’ve paid.
- If someone makes a claim against us because of artwork or text you provided, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, including attorney’s fees, to the extent the law allows.
10. Our designs
Our stamp-style art, botanical illustrations, packet templates and growing directions stay ours. You may hand out, mail and photograph your packets and share those photos. Please don’t reproduce our designs in other materials without our written permission.
11. Seed labels and storage
- The back of every packet carries the seed-label information the law requires, including the species, lot number, germination test result and test date, the amount of seed, the year it was packed for, a sell-by date, and our name and address as the packer. We can’t remove or change it, and it shouldn’t be covered.
- Your name or logo appears on the front as the giver (for example, “A gift from” your business). It can’t be presented as the packer or labeler of the seed.
- Store packets somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sun, and hand them out before the sell-by date printed on the back.
- If you plan to hand packets out outside Missouri, tell us where. Some states have their own seed rules, and we check them before we pack.
- Everyone who receives one of your packets is covered by our Grow Guarantee.
12. Our promise and its limits
- Our promise: your packets will match your approved proof (allowing for normal variation in printing, kraft paper and hand assembly), and the seed will meet the information on its label when delivered. If they don’t, we’ll replace or refund the affected packets. The Grow Guarantee is our written limited warranty on the seed.
- Implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to 12 months from delivery.
- Damages: to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, such as a missed event, lost business or profits, or the cost of other giveaway items, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order.
- Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. These terms give you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
13. Events beyond our control
If severe weather, a seed shortage, carrier delays, illness or another event we can’t reasonably control affects your order, we’ll tell you right away and offer a new date, a substitute seed with your OK, or a refund for anything we can’t deliver.
14. If there’s a problem
Talk to us first at [email protected]; most problems are solved quickly. Missouri law governs these terms. Disputes that can’t be worked out go to the state courts located in St. Charles County, Missouri, or the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, except that either of us may use small claims court if the claim qualifies. Our Terms of Sale and Use cover anything these terms don’t.
