Grow Guarantee (Limited Warranty)

Our promise: If a packet doesn’t come up after you follow our growing guide, tell us within 12 months and we’ll send you a replacement packet, shipped free. You don’t need to send anything back.

This page is the full text of the Grow Guarantee. It is a limited warranty from Prairie Post Seed Co. LLC.

1. Who is covered

Anyone who receives one of our seed packets, however they got it:

• you bought it from us online, on Etsy, at a market or plant sale;
• you bought it at a garden center or shop that carries our products;
• you received it as a gift, in a Seed Club mailing, or as a giveaway from a business, wedding or event that ordered packets from us.

Each packet can be claimed once.

2. What is covered

Every seed packet we pack, including:

• Missouri Native Series packets, Nos. 1–12;
• the packets inside the Winter-Sow Kit, the Monarch Milkweed Trio, The Complete Series, Pick Any 4 and Seed Club mailings;
• custom business packets (including the Missouri Pollinator Mix) and the packets in Pop-By Kits.

“Doesn’t come up” means that few or no seedlings appeared after you sowed the seed the way our guide (or the directions on the packet) describes, including any cold treatment the species needs, and after the typical sprouting time listed in the guide has passed.

Some natives are slow, and some of their seeds may wait until a second spring to sprout. Our guide lists the typical sprouting time for each species. If you’re not sure whether to keep waiting, write to us anyway and we’ll help you figure it out.

3. What is not covered

• Seedlings that came up and later died from weather, drought, flooding, heat, pests, animals, disease, herbicides or other growing conditions.
• Seed that was stored somewhere hot, damp or in direct sun, or sown in a way the guide says not to (for example, a species that needs a winter chill sown in late spring without cold treatment).
• Non-seed items such as guides, plant markers, boxes and sleeves. If those arrive damaged, our Shipping & Returns policy covers them.
• Packets whose claim period has ended (see section 5).

4. What we will do

We will send you a replacement packet of the same species, at our expense, including shipping.

If that species is out of stock, you can choose either a different packet from the Missouri Native Series or a refund of what was paid for that packet. Refunds go to the person who paid. For packets that came in a kit, set or Seed Club mailing, the refund is that packet’s share of the price:

For a business packet or Pop-By Kit received as a giveaway, the remedy is a replacement or a different packet from the series.

We reply to claims within 2 business days and ship replacements within 4 business days of approving them.

5. How long it lasts

The Grow Guarantee starts on the day you receive the packet and lasts 12 months. Tell us within that time.

6. How to make a claim

Email [email protected] (or, if you bought on Etsy, message us through Etsy). You can also call [PHONE] or write to us at [MAILING ADDRESS]. Please include:

1. your name and shipping address;
2. the packet number or species, and the lot number printed on the back (a photo of the back of the packet is the easiest way);
3. where the packet came from (an order number, the store, a gift or a business giveaway);
4. roughly when and how you sowed it, for example “outdoor containers in January” or “fridge for 30 days, then the garden bed in April.”

You don’t need to return the packet or prove anything else. If someone asks for replacements for a large number of packets, we may ask for photos of the packet backs, and we will replace no more packets than were received.

7. If you disagree with our decision

We don’t use an outside dispute program for the Grow Guarantee. If you’re not happy with how we handled your claim, reply to our email or write to the owner at [email protected] and we’ll take another look.

8. Limits of this warranty

Implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to 12 months from the date you receive the packet.

We are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, such as the cost of soil, containers, labor, other plants or landscaping, or the loss of a crop or planting.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
